Boulder Service Company Drives Green with Fleet of Electric Vehicles

CEL is proud to be part of a historic event with our client Precision Plumbing, Heating, Cooling and Electric in Boulder, Colorado. Precision Plumbing is about to unveil its new all-electric service truck, which is the first of its kind in the industry.

This new truck drives clean energy.  The battery is charged on solar power and is predicted to last 10-12 years or up to 300,000 miles. The aerodynamic design improves range and drivability, contributing to less energy use and more miles for the money. The cost to run the vehicle is estimated at five cents a mile. There are no belts, spark plugs, oil filters or valves and no transmission, alternator, or distributor cap and it uses only three fluids – differential gear oil, brake fluid and washer fluid.

This vehicle eliminates dependence on oil and removing harmful emissions means cleaner air and quieter neighborhoods for Precision’s customers. “This is the future and everyone needs to do their part with energy conservation. There is no reason why a plumber can’t lead the way and set the example,” said Precision Owner and President Tom Robichaud.

CEL is excited to be flying to Boulder next week to join the Precision team in unveiling this new all-electric truck at company headquarters on January 26th.

Fueled by his commitment to the environment, Robichaud has announced plans to spend about $1.4 million to replace his current fleet of 20 service trucks with all-electric trucks.

Precision has served the Boulder and Denver, CO area for almost three decades. We’d like to thank Precision Plumbing for its continued commitment to saving energy and protecting the environment We are pleased and proud to be working with them on this endeavor.
