Our Commitment to Accessibility

Oh my #GAAD it’s Global Accessibility Awareness Day! Today, we celebrate the importance of accessibility for all. Accessibility is about making sure that everyone can participate and contribute, regardless of their abilities. It’s about creating an inclusive world where everyone can access information, services, and opportunities.

At CEL Marketing PR Design, we are committed to accessibility. We believe that everyone, regardless of their abilities, should be able to access our products, services, and information. We are continuously working to make our digital and physical environments more inclusive while helping educate our clients on how they can do their part.

Let’s take a moment to think about how we can make our digital world more accessible. Whether you’re a designer, developer, or content creator, there are steps you can take to make your work more inclusive. This could include adding captions to videos, using alt text for images, or designing websites with accessibility in mind.

Remember, accessibility benefits everyone. By making our digital world more accessible, we create a better experience for all users. So, let’s commit to making accessibility a priority in our work and in our lives. Happy Global Accessibility Awareness Day! #GAAD #AccessibilityForAll #a11y

What Can I Do to Make an Accessibility Commitment?

As a society, we have come a long way in recognizing the importance of accessibility. Today, we understand that creating an inclusive environment is not just the right thing to do, it’s also good business. By ensuring that everyone has access to information, services, and opportunities, we create a better world for all.

Here are some of the steps we are taking to ensure accessibility:

    1. Designing with accessibility in mind: Our design teams work thoughtfully to ensure that our materials and services are designed with accessibility in mind from the outset. This includes considering color contrast, font sizes, and avoiding PDFs on websites. You can check your brand using checkers like Accessible-Colors or Color Safe Fonts Families
    1. Training your staff: We provide training to raise awareness of accessibility issues and to ensure that they understand how to create accessible content.
    1. Conducting regular accessibility audits: We regularly review our materials and services to ensure that they meet the highest accessibility standards. When’s the last time you checked yours?
    1. Listening to feedback: We value feedback from our clients and take their comments and suggestions seriously. This includes feedback on accessibility issues, which we use to inform our ongoing efforts to improve accessibility. Do you have an accessibility statement (usually found in your website footer)? Is there a way for someone to get in contact with you if a need arises? You can use the free accessibility statement generator to get started or give chatGPT a try!
    1. Offering alternative formats: We recognize that not everyone can access information in the same way. That’s why you may want to offer alternative formats such as audio, closed captioning, or large print.
    1. Last but not least: Make a commitment! Follow the lead of Eden Prairie Schools by setting a goal.

We are committed to reducing our website's PDF useage by 90% by the end of the 2023-2024 school year. Dirk Tedmon, Executive Director of Communications, Eden Prairie Schools

We know that creating an inclusive environment is an ongoing process, and we are committed to continually improving our accessibility efforts. We believe that everyone has the right to access materials, services, and information, and we will continue to work towards that goal.

If you have any feedback or suggestions on how we can improve our accessibility efforts, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Together, we can create a more inclusive world for all.
