It takes a lot for communicators to be at a loss for words, but lately we’ve felt uncertain—considering what to say when words don’t feel like enough.
For the past five years, we’ve walked alongside you as “unprecedented times” affect our communities again and again. Pandemics. Political upheavals. Natural disasters. It’s unrelenting.
Some of you are in the thick of it right now, while others are in the pause between crises.
As a Minneapolis-based agency, we’re no strangers to uncertainty. Still, the past weeks have felt especially heavy.
We see the pain and fear moving through our community, and how quickly it ripples through schools, neighborhoods, businesses, and the lives of students, families, friends, and colleagues. Everyday life feels fractured and fragile.
Our hearts break for the lives lost, the parents separated from their children, and for people living with fear and uncertainty. We believe in the inherent dignity of every person, and our core values call us to stand with our neighbors in compassion, empathy, and respect.
We know that healing and understanding begin with listening and supporting one another, and by caring for the well-being of all people. We remain committed to uplifting humanity first, and to showing up with kindness and care.
Even in the middle of all this, we see something else. We see you supporting one another—sharing resources and hard-earned expertise. We watch you commiserate, celebrate, and lift each other up. You show up every day for students and families, colleagues and neighbors, friends and strangers, even when the weight feels heavy.
We don’t have perfect words or perfect resources for this moment. That’s not like us. But neither is silence.
So we want you to know we’re here for you. We’re paying attention. We’re standing with you, ready to support however we can. You don’t have to carry this alone.
