Wayzata Boosters Scores Big for the Community

A new scoreboard is lighting up the night on the Wayzata High School football field. CEL was honored to sponsor Project Score, adding luster to a bright idea.
A persistent two-year effort by a group of parents led by Cathy Roth determined that the replacement of the existing scoreboard (which was in need of extensive repairs) would best be served with a digital scoreboard that could showcase athletics and more.  This committed group of residents sought sponsorships to fund the installation of the digital multi-sport video scoreboard on the Wayzata High School Athletic Stadium field. In cooperation with the Wayzata School District and city of Plymouth, the Wayzata Boosters program succeeded in bringing the community together and using the latest technology to showcase academic, musical, theatrical and community and service achievements.

Our own Wayzata High Alum Chelsea Janke was on site on the inaugural night to celebrate our sponsorship of the campaign.

In a recent note to CEL, Cathy Roth kindly said, “Its public success was wholly attributed to your advice for our group and help in positioning the message to the community.”

Kudos to Cathy Roth and all members of the Project SCORE volunteer committee.  Lesson learned:  never underestimate the vision of a few committed people who believe in collaboration and cooperation to accomplishing what others see as impossible.

Students of Wayzata High School’s video production curriculum are now gaining    hands-on experience as they create the promotions and run the scoreboard. Read more about Project SCORE in the Sun Sailor, Lakeshore Weekly, Star Tribune, Patch.com and on KARE 11 and NWCT Channel 12 News.
We are proud to be a supporter of a project that puts the many accomplishments of our high school youth in the limelight
