Channel 12 and Northwest Community Television is a beloved local community television station serving nine northwest Minneapolis suburbs. Unlike most community stations, this group successfully competes with area’s big network affiliates for viewership. But as viewers are increasingly cutting the cable, the local station was looking to the future. How could it rebrand itself as the multi-media company it is today, without losing 36 years of loyal viewers?
For CEL, the process is just as important as the outcome in branding. We facilitated a series of community meetings to learn what made the station special. The message was clear: It was a connected community experience, sharing local stories through digital and broadcast channels. With that in mind, CCX Media was born: Connected Community Experience.
