30 Years 30 Heroes: LaDonna Hoy

LaDonna Hoy, also known as “Saint LaDonna” in Minneapolis’ western suburbs, lives as a servant leader and inspires by serving others. Along with being a grandmother of 13, LaDonna is a founder and the executive director of Interfaith Outreach & Community (IOCP), a Plymouth-based nonprofit that provides both emergency and long-term support for individuals and families living in Hamel, Long Lake, Medicine Lake, Medina, Minnetonka Beach, Orono, Plymouth and Wayzata.

Since IOCP’s start in 1979, LaDonna has been a compassionate leader and humble hero. She states, “I am simply more grateful than proud of any and all achievements, and can only smile at the idea of personal or organizational achievement. We’ve worked hard; there have been obstacles, but, truly, any and all of the major achievements we’ve had along the way have been the result of an amazing combination of community heart, will and just-in-time miracles that we have learned to count on.”

Just as CEL, LaDonna is passionately committed to the betterment business, family and the community. We should all take a note from LaDonna as she sums up her philosophy, “I believe this is what we’re all called to do, to take care of one another, and it’s possible. You just have to find the good folks to help you get there.”

Thank you, LaDonna, for your compassion, leadership, and for all you continue to do!
