C.E.L. Attended the Applewood Peer Group Meeting On Behalf of Nexstar® Network

Our own Kari Logan has just returned from Denver, Colorado where she attended the Applewood Peer Group Meeting on behalf of Nexstar® Network. It was three days of intense mentoring, and participants walked away with tangible strategies that lead to documented success. Peer Group meetings set the standard and raise the bar for other professionals to live and work by. Logan will write an article on the event for Contractor Magazine, a leading trade publication for plumbing, heating and cooling home service contractors.

“I’m looking forward to capturing the essence of this event within the pages of Contractor,” said Logan. “It’s always inspiring to visit the shops of successful Nexstar members with a strong commitment to mentoring and learning from other members through Nexstar’s incredible peer connections.”

Deborah Yungner, Founding Chair and CEO of ERBUS Inc. Emergency Response Back-up Utility System

With an invention that offers potential life-saving technology, Deborah Yungner definitely has a message to get to the media. The ERBUS Sentry 5000 and ERBUS Remus are the brainchild of Yungner. C.E.L. Secures Media Coverage for Local Company that is Shredding Identity Theft

C.E.L. client Shred-it had a story that needed to be heard – and C.E.L. made it happen. Shred-it wanted to alert the public that identity theft is now the fastest growing crime, according to the Federal Trade Commission. Experts estimate that about 10 million people become victims each year - which means that means every minute, 19 people become new victims of identity fraud. Without careful and correct disposal of your sensitive documents, statements and materials, your trash can become someone else’s treasure. The answer? Shred-it Minnesota.

Shred-it hired C.E.L. to secure broadcast media coverage on NBC affiliate KARE 11 and that’s what we did. KARE 11 reporter Trisha Volpe gave viewers the facts and the solutions.

“Taking the time to build strong relationships with the media has really lead C.E.L. and our clients to excellent opportunities,” said Kari Logan, Media Specialist at C.E.L. “Our relationships with our media contacts are strong to the point where they now call us when they’re in need of an interview. Channel 12 was doing a story on a fraud seminar for seniors in the Twin Cities and they called us looking for a side bar. Shred-it Minnesota had just opened their new secure drop-off facility and was looking to get the word out on the fact that people can drop off their documents for shredding and by doing so, protect themselves from identity theft. I connected the two and within 30 minutes, Channel 12 headed to Shred-it to shoot tape within the shredding facility and an interview with Shred-it President Tom Vettel.”

C.E.L. Promotes Social Security Seminarto Offer Tips for Maximizing Retirement Income

C.E.L. was chosen by Business & Estate Advisers, Inc. of Rice Lake to develop and design collateral materials to promote their 60-minute Social Security Planning Seminars. These seminars were created to help take the guesswork out of Social Security income.

Reports of a freeze on Social Security Cost of Living Adjustments (COLAs) are of growing concern to Americans, yet according to The U.S. Social Security Administration, The Social Security trust fund is currently over funded and is projected to continue to be until 2017 or so.

Financial experts (and baby boomers) E. Dennis Zahrbock, CFP® CLU ChFC and Stephen Bowman, CFP® of Business & Estate Advisers, Inc. in Rice Lake will help you determine:
•How you can maximize social security benefits.
•How much you and/or your spouse can personally expect to receive.
•At what age you should apply for social security to receive the most benefit.

There are things baby boomers should know to avoid making a costly mistake by drawing social security at the wrong age. If you’re on social security right now, you can make changes that may increase your benefits by hundreds of dollars each month. Social Security has a unique “change option” which allows you to pay back 100% of the benefits you’ve received and start over at your current age benefit with a higher income for life.
